HCFO Teams with NASHP to Highlight Evidence on Consumer-Directed Health Care
On Sunday, August 7, 2005, HCFO and the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) conducted a conference for policy leaders and researchers examining consumer-directed health care. In conjunction with NASHP’s 18th Annual State Policy Conference in Nashville, this one-day pre-conference highlighted new research findings with an emphasis on the implications for state health policy. Sessions comprising researchers, state policymakers, and representatives from health plans provided an opportunity for debate and discussion about the potential benefits and pitfalls of consumer-directed care.
This first-time collaboration between HCFO and NASHP permitted the exchange of information, as well as the identification of ongoing policy and research agendas.
